Job description

Welder Fabricator Job Summary

We are looking for a motivated, experienced welder to join our company as a Welder Fabricator. As part of our team of professional fabricators, you construct and manufacture metal parts and products, taking particular care to produce clean, polished welds. You follow blueprints, determine material measurements, and take responsibility for fabricating parts used in later assembly processes. You are responsible for the quality of your output, so you must be able to perform simple tests to ensure weld quality and tolerance.

Welder Fabricator Duties and Responsibilities

  • Fabricate and manufacture metal parts for later assembly
  • Follow blueprints to ensure exact specifications of output
  • Produce strong, clean welds
  • Test output to ensure strength and tolerance of welds
  • Enforce safe work habits
  • Recognize, set up, and operate ALL hand and power tools common to the welding trade, including but not limited to shielded and gas metal arc equipment, hand saws, jigs, drills, and so forth
  • Oversee Firewatch and the completion of required paperwork
  • Accurately complete all paperwork for the office and client with no issues
  • In-depth knowledge of ERP Software and functions
  • Layout, position, align, and secure parts and assemblies prior to assembly, using straightedges, combination squares, calipers, and rulers with no issues
  • Weld components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions with clean and smooth welds
  • Operation of plasma table and Torchmate software
  • Inspect, measure, or test completed metal workpieces to ensure conformance to specifications, using measuring and testing devices
  • Assemble, align and clamp workpieces into holding fixtures to bond, heat-treat, or solder fabricated metal components
  • Set up, operate, or tend welding machines that join or bond components to fabricate metal products or assemblies
  • Demonstrate ability to lead small projects
  • Demonstrate knowledge and skill with hand sketches
  • Complete any additional tasks asked or assigned
  • Other duties as assigned
