Eaton Corporation Communications Director, ES-A in Moon Township, Pennsylvania

Eaton’s ES AMER HQ division is currently seeking a Communications Director, ES-A. This position is based at our Moon Township, PA facility. Relocation assistance is available to those currently residing in the United States. This role also offers a hybrid working schedule.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $123750.0 - $181500.0 a year. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program.

What you’ll do:

This role will be responsible for creating and implementing the strategic communications plan for Electrical Sector – Americas (ESA). The expectation is to increase employee engagement, support business objectives, and enhance Eaton's visibility and brand. Key responsibilities include aligning with senior leadership and key stakeholders, understanding Eaton and ESA strategies and market trends, delivering effective messages, and analyzing feedback to improve communication approaches. Additionally, the individual in this role will be expected to collaborate closely across the organization to ensure a consistent and unified message across all channels. Work to develop innovative communication approaches that resonate with a diverse, multi-national workforce. Regularly seeking input from employees at all levels will be crucial in fine-tuning these strategies. Building strong relationships with media outlets and external partners to promote Eaton’s achievements and initiatives will also be essential. Staying abreast of the latest trends and best practices in corporate communications will help ensure that our approach remains effective. This role is an essential member of the ESA human resources senior leadership team, and as such, is expected to engage and contribute to key discussions, decisions and responsibilities that enable the collective success of the function.

Key areas of focus:

  • Strategic Leadership Communication: Create, implement, and evaluate strategic leadership communication plans and content for members of the Electrical Sector Americas senior leadership team. Define communication objectives that align with global business goals; analyze and interpret data analytics, market conditions, stakeholder positions, and other variables across different businesses to develop a framework for strategic communications; establish strategic and measurable objectives; adjust strategies in response to or anticipation of evolving global conditions; design and conduct both quantitative and qualitative analytics on an international scale.

  • Employee Engagement: Develop a regular operating cadence of content for the business to engage employees with the business vision and encourage support for the business objectives and plan.

  • Internal and External Communications: Oversee internal and occasional external communications content for global senior leaders, including business updates, critical issues, social media, and key external content. Develop clear, concise, and consistent messages that reinforce strategy and priorities.

  • Crisis Management: Lead/support crisis or issue management with sensitive and effective internal and external communications.

  • Alignment with Central Communications: Engage with the Eaton communications function to represent the voice of ESA, and to ensure complete alignment with the strategy and direction of the communication's functional leadership.

  • Market Awareness: Stay informed about market drivers and current trends impacting Eaton and the ESA business to ensure communications have context, are engaging, and relatable.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely across key functions, including human resources, corporate communications, technology, and regional communications teams.

  • Regional Alignment and Trust Building: Ensure global regional communications plans are aligned with the strategy, enhance employee engagement, and build trust in leadership.

  • Digital Media Proficiency: Utilize digital media tools and social media techniques worldwide, understanding their role in achieving strategic global business objectives.

  • Engaging Content Creation: Creating impactful content that reflects the organization's brand my using writing and visual communication to craft engaging narratives.

Qualifications:

Basic (required) Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Marketing, Communications, Public Relations or related field of study required

  • Eight (8) years of progressive marketing or communications experience

  • Five (5) years of experience in creating, implementing, and evaluating strategic leadership communication plans and content for senior leadership teams, supporting a global manufacturing operation

  • Advanced knowledge of the Microsoft suite of software, including office, SharePoint, editing, Teams capability, etc.

  • Ability to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in the electrical industry
