The Program Manager will actively contribute to the leadership team as an administrative-level decision-maker to develop and advance strategic goals and objectives of the PCN and Potato Virus programs. Reporting directly to the Project Directors, this self-directed position serves as the administrative lead, managing complex business operations and ensuring the programs success.
rrPosition Overview:
r
This position supports the planning and completion of educational, outreach or professional programs; working with program staff, students, the public and/or agencies, to plan and oversee program activities. May lead a distinct area for the program such as outreach, assessment or financial management.
Duties may include:
- Participate in the development and implementation of program deliverables, services and activities
- Coordinate a team with a variety array of talents and responsibilities
- Collect, compile and summarize program data for reports
- Participate in developing program operating goals, objectives and protocols
- Maintain program budgets, monitoring and reviewing transactions for compliance with program requirements
- Active participation in the development and submission of program proposals
- Lead collection and compilation of program assessment data
- May supervise the work of others or lead a team to accomplish assigned goals
- Other duties as assigned
rrRequired Experience:
r
- Two years of program coordination or program management experience
- Working in a team environment to accomplish shared goals
- Collecting, compiling, summarizing and analyzing data for administrative reports
rrRequired Education:
r
- Bachelors Degree; four additional years of experience in program coordination (for a total of six years) may substitute for a Bachelors Degree
rrRequired Other:
r
- None
rrAdditional Preferred:
r
- Bachelors Degree in Business Management, Agricultural Economics, Business Administration Plant or Crop Science, Plant Pathology, or closely related field
- Four years of progressively responsible experience which has included one year of supervisory experience
- Strong verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Experience working in higher education
- Experience managing project budgets and University of Idaho Financial software such as Jaegger and Chrome River
