Job Summary

This position is responsible for providing leadership and supporting the development and implementation of environmental, health and safety compliance programs for the power plants. This position may or may not have direct reports.

Job Description

Key Accountabilities

·Responsible for providing leadership and supporting the development and implementation of environmental, health and safety compliance programs for their plant.

·Analyze, prepare, plan, and submit all local, state, and federal environmental reports and regulatory compliance notifications, including Title V, GHG, NPDES, SPCC, SWPP, and other power generation requirements.

·Compile, analyze, and assure the quality of environmental data for use in regulatory and corporate reports (e.g., annual emission reports, excess emission reports, continuous emission monitoring reports, etc.).

·Interact with external agencies as representative of the plant and the company.

·Develop, maintain, and implement plant-level programs to comply with corporate environmental and safety policies and directives.

·Ensure plant employees are properly trained on all company EHS procedures and policies.

·Manage injury and near miss incidents including injury and illness reporting to the company, investigations, and learnings.

·Maintain awareness of safe working conditions and practice safe work habits in all activities.

·Educate and promote safe work practices and programs.

·Manage recordkeeping required for EHS regulatory compliance.

Education, Experience, and Skill Requirements

·Minimum of 6 years of experience working with and providing oversight of environmental and safety compliance at power plants or other industrial locations.

·Experience gained through college degree programs and/or certifications applicable to above skills.

·Familiarity with EPA and OSHA (state and federal) regulations.

·Excellent organizational skills and ability to effectively manage multiple activities and complex issues.

·Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, regulators, and the public concerning environmental compliance and stewardship.

·Strong interpersonal and excellent written and oral communication skills, including procedures development and implementation.

·Experience with delivering communications and training related to EHS compliance, corrective actions, lessons learned, etc.

·Knowledge of California environmental and Cal/OSHA regulations strongly preferred.

·Ability to review technical adequacy of consultant work products to verify that the project/plant interests and regulatory requirements are met.

·Ability to support multiple sites and travel 5% - 10% of the time.

•Ability to support a 24/7 operation with occasional emergency call-outs and extended outages.

·Strong skillset in resolving technical issues, to ensure EHS compliance

·Proven project management skills.

·Maintains relationships with regulatory agencies, serving as the primary plant liaison

Compensation commensurate with experience, starts at $131,400, plus bonus, profit sharing, comprehensive benefits.
