Penn State Tool & Die Corporation is seeking the following talented, high-energy individuals with abilities to work in a team environment to meet customer needs.

 

Manufacturing Engineer / Project Manager:

The primary function of the manufacturing engineer/Project Manager is to act as the technical consultant for all phases of company operations relating to materials, processes and special applications. The person outlines manufacturing techniques to the production department and initiates controlling documentation to support the customer's technical and quality requirements.

 

In this position, a manufacturing engineer can be expected to be responsible for the following;

  • Review of purchase orders to determine applicable requirements.
  • Reviews all raw material requirements and completes bills of materials for purchasing action.
  • Prepares and obtains necessary approvals of associated manufacturing procedures (welding, load test, functional test, leak test, etc.).
  • Prepares manufacturing process outlines to describe processes and sequence.
  • Prepares subcontract work instructions when required.
  • Oversees preparation of in-house drawings and instructions necessary to support fabrication.
  • Designs and supervises fabrication of special test equipment, jigs and fixtures.
  • Oversees design of special shipping containers.
  • Oversees raw material layout, as required, to ensure raw material traceabilty.
  • The successful candidate will be highly motivated, willing to take ownership of challenges, and customer focused.

Job Requirements -- The successful candidate for this position will possess the following;

  • Over four years up to and including 10 years of trade school, vocational education, work experience, apprenticeship or college degree in an engineering field.
  • Working knowledge of a manufacturing resource planning system.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, such as effective verbal and written communications; ability to lead team members; ability to develop relationships with internal and external stakeholders; and ability to make decisions and carry out multiple tasks as assigned, with minimal guidance from supervisory Managers and mentors.

     

Wages commensurate with experience.
