Reference #: R0062866 Senior Field Service Engineer positions offered by Hitachi Energy USA Inc. (Mount Pleasant, PA). Install, modify, test, commission or repair Gas Insulated Substation (GIS) High Voltage switch-gear apparatus such as Circuit Breakers and Instrument Transformers in the range of 69kV through 550kV- GIS. Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on High Voltage equipment. Perform and document field tests such as SF6 leak detection, gas analysis, timing, power factor, contact re-sistance. Compile and evaluate data to determine and resolve operating problems or malfunctions. Conduct inspections to determine necessary maintenance and repairs and assist in determining re-source requirements. Maintain detailed records and logs. Recommend changes such as new equipment or modified procedures to improve performance and customer satisfaction. Assist in planning and coordinating team efforts.

Minimum Requirements:

Requires a bachelor's or foreign equivalent degree in electrical engineering or a related field and 6 years of experience in the position offered or 6 years of experience providing field service engineering including installation, modification, testing, commissioning, and repair for High Voltage Substations and equipment (>69kV) for power utilities. Also requires 6 years of experience: supporting SF6 gas handling including leak detection and testing; reading electrical drawings and schematics; managing projects, site crews, and schedules at construction sites; executing job hazard analysis and safety practices for high voltage substations; and reading electrical drawings and schematics as well as mechanical and electrical diagrams analyze test results and elaborate technical reports of product quality inspections. In lieu of a bachelor's degree in the aforementioned fields and 6 years of experience as stated, employer will accept 8 years of experience as stated above. Also requires 6 years of experience operating test equipment including CB timers, TTR, ductor; and CT Testers. Requires 4 years of experience operating industrial forklifts and manlifts. Employee works from home and may telecommute from any location within the U.S. Position reports to Mount Pleasant, PA office and will work at various, unanticipated client sites throughout the U.S. on short- and long-term basis up to 80% of time.
