We are looking for: Global Payroll Accounting Expert:

  • The incumbent will deliver Payroll Accounting Services according to the service catalog.

We count on you for:

  • Under the guidance of the Global Payroll and Benefits Process Expert Team Lead, this role will primarily focus on supporting and delivering payroll accounting activities, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely processing of payroll for employees in NAM.

  • The ideal candidate will have a strong background in payroll accounting, a deep understanding of local labor and tax laws, and excellent analytical skills.

Payroll Accounting Administration:

  • Manage end-to-end payroll accounting processes for employees in NAM, ensuring accuracy and compliance with local regulations.

  • Prepare and process payroll journals, reconciliations, and reports, ensuring alignment with general ledger accounts.

  • Prepare/Review Balance Sheet Account Reconciliations linked with Payroll/Fringe Accounts.

  • Reconcile payroll accounts and resolve discrepancies on time.

  • Answer questions from GBU’s on Cost Center variations.

  • Fringe Rate analysis and recommendations for the upcoming year.

  • Accounting linked with Bonus Payout/Bonus Accrual Reversal on an annual basis.

  • External Audit, Payroll Audits, and Actuarial support.

  • Accounting is linked with the Vacation Accrual Process.

  • Oversee Pension Accounting/in coordination with Service Centers.

  • Provide ad hoc reporting to CAMs, Controllers, and other finance people as needed.

  • Support global payroll projects and improvements with an understanding of the region-specific needs and impacts on the FI/Accounting side.

NAM specific request (Per Payroll Accountant Duties file)

  • Review payroll postings and make necessary corrections (void checks, manual payroll postings for PR not posting automatically, out of balances, corrections for non-harmonized wage types in the US, etc.)

  • Prepare vacation accrual and posting (Hourly). Note: hourly vacation accrual is not standard.

  • Provide training to CAMs/Controllers on NAM payroll accounting processes.

  • Maintain training documentation for the NAM payroll process.

  • Provide mapping for new NAM wage types in PF1 and WP1

  • Review all test output and approve from an accounting perspective

  • Liaise with Strada/NAM HR and payroll teams for errors and changes on the accounting/FI side (errors, periods not opened, changes, etc)

  • Support the bonus process and payout corrections to US companies- note this is after the global process, as these are corrections needed in Jan and Apr each year for all the US companies.

  • Provide codification for miscellaneous payments related to payroll and payroll differences coming from Treasury when necessary, prepare and submit to CICC manual pelican files, as needed.

  • Support the Chemplex accounting process.

  • Accesses provided for PP9/WP1/PF1 systems to support the payroll process, maintaining confidentiality of information.

Compliance and Reporting

  • Stay updated on changes in labor laws, tax regulations, and social security requirements in NAM per request.

  • Support internal and external audits by providing accurate payroll accounting records and documentation.

Payroll Support and Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with HR, Finance, and external payroll providers to ensure seamless payroll delivery.

  • Assist in the implementation and improvement of payroll accounting processes and systems.

● Data Analysis and Continuous Improvement:

  • Analyze payroll accounting data to identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for improvement.

  • Develop and maintain payroll accounting documentation, including process manuals and guidelines.

  • Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and compliance.

Education and Experience:

  • Indicate the required education in terms of minimum years of education, required type of degree, field of studies, etc., and the required knowledge and/or experience in terms of minimum years of experience in the respective field.

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

  • The ability/experience to work cross-functionally between HRSL and Finance.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in payroll accounting, with a focus on US or NAM.

  • In-depth knowledge of US payroll regulations, tax laws, and social security systems.

  • Proficiency in payroll software and accounting systems.

  • Strong Excel skills and experience working with large datasets.

  • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

You will get:

  • The U.S. base salary range reasonably expected to be paid for this position is $84,960 to $106,200 per year.

  • Since actual compensation packages are based on a variety of factors unique to each candidate, we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted base salary range.

  • Total compensation for this role also includes bonus and/or other incentives.

  • 16 or more weeks of maternity/paternity and co-parenting leave, according to local regulations.
