A Day in the Life
Medtronic is hiring a senior IT MDM technologist. As a senior IT MDM technologist / developer, you will be a key member of our IT team, specializing in designing, implementing, and managing complex integration solutions. Leveraging your extensive technical expertise and deep understanding of integration technologies, you will play a critical role in shaping our organization's integration strategy and driving innovation within the integration landscape. Your expertise in integration technologies, combined with strategic thinking and technical leadership, will contribute to the success of our integration projects and overall IT ecosystem. Your deep expertise in integration technologies and hands-on experience will drive the success of our integration initiatives and contribute to the overall technological excellence of the organization.
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.
The MDM Administrator will be responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of our Informatica MDM systems, ensuring data quality, accuracy, security and consistency across the organization. This role requires a strong understanding of data management principles, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
Collaborates with source systems owners and data stewards and other technical personnel on the Data Governance group to resolve any data related (i.e. quality) or technical issues pertaining to data ingestion process.
Assists Medtronic team members, vendors, or other customers by answering questions related to DG/ MDM data processes, procedures, and services.
Solution Implementation: Develops Informatica solutions both on-prem and SaaS, ensuring they meet technical specifications, quality standards, and adhere to best practices. Provide hands-on technical expertise as needed.
Continuous Improvement: Lead continuous improvement initiatives, exploring new tools, techniques, and methodologies to enhance integration processes, efficiency, and performance.
Troubleshooting and Support: Identify and resolve systematic related issues, ensuring the stability and reliability of integration solutions. Collaborate with support teams to provide timely resolutions. Engaged in product platform upgrades across the Informatica suites; including Informatica MDM, IDQ, Axon, EDC, IICS and PowerCenter.
Solution Implementation: Oversee the end-to-end implementation of complex MDM domain solutions, including the data rules, data quality and data transformation processes. Ensure solutions adhere to best practices and architectural documentation and standards.
Mentorship and Knowledge Sharing: Provide mentorship and guidance to integration technologists and junior members of the team. Promote a culture of continuous learning and knowledge sharing.
Vendor Interaction: Collaborate with Informatica and third-party partners to understand product roadmaps, influence product enhancements, and ensure Medtronic’s integration approach and architecture is future-proof and aligned with vendor and industry trends. Foster strong relationships with internal teams and external vendors to facilitate effective collaboration throughout the integration process.
Performance Optimization: Analyze and optimize integration solutions for performance, scalability, and reliability. Identify and address potential bottlenecks and recommend appropriate solutions.
Documentation and Knowledge Management: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation, including architectural diagrams, design documents, and integration patterns. Contribute to the development of a knowledge repository for DG/ MDM best practices.
Innovation: Stay abreast of emerging technologies, integration trends, and industry developments. Explore and recommend innovative solutions to improve integration processes, efficiency, and overall system performance.
Required Knowledge and Experience
9+ years of progressive experience in IT integration with a bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information technology, or a related field. or 10+ years of experience with an advanced degree.
Excellent communication skills and stakeholder management abilities, including the ability to present technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
Experience working on various MDM components like Hub console, Jboss application server administration, Customer/Entity 360, SIF, AVOS, Building and deploying business entities, establishing data stewardship, MDM installs/upgrades
Experience working on IDQ administration, creating data profiles, scorecards and Data cleansing using IDQ platform, Address doctor configuration.
Experience working on MDM Saas, CDQ, CDI, CAI and Daas.
Ability to lead the development, deployment, and technical quality of large enterprise or global solutions that span multiple technologies and disciplines.
Participate in integration design activities working with Solution Architects, Technical Leads, and peer Team Members.
Understanding on integration technologies, middleware platforms, integration design patterns, messaging frameworks, and API management, ETL tools, data transformation techniques and ESB frameworks.
Ability to understand the customer's business problem, need, or opportunity and to design a solution that completely and correctly addresses the business problem, need, or opportunity without unnecessary enhancements.
Experience working with Real Time & Near Real Time integrations, including Message Oriented based message handling techniques.
Experience with Cloud technology AWS EC2 instances and understanding of IaaS, PaaS and SaaS platform/Applications.
Experience /Knowledge in designing CI/CD solutions ( Git/Jenkins)
Demonstrated experience with enterprise database technologies like Oracle, MySQL, Snowflake, DB2 and MS SQL Server.
NICE TO HAVE
Previous Medtronic work experience
Master’s Degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field.
Experience in change management, as it relates to a culture and mindset of a complex organization including capabilities building, process design, ownership, and implementation.
Informatica MDM Certifications
Managing a Global Organization and Stakeholders.
