The City of Napervilles Transportation, Engineering, and Development Department is hiring for a self-motivated person who enjoys\ working outdoors, can work with minimal supervision, and is comfortable driving a City truck. The hours are Monday - Friday (7 am - 3:30\ pm), mid-May to mid-August. This position is an excellent opportunity to network with City employees and to learn and work for a very\ progressive organization.
Duties
- Assist the Code Team by being the primary person to handle tall grass and weed complaints during the summer months.
- Take tall grass complaints and enter the information into City systems, inspect the properties, confirm property ownership, send violation letters to those whose properties are in violation, and re-inspect the properties to ensure they are in compliance.
- Coordinate mows performed by the city contractor, assist with related billing questions, and follow up with complainants to ensure a timely response.
Qualifications
- Applicants currently working towards an undergraduate degree in Public Administration, Civil Engineering or similar programs are preferred.
- Strong oral and written communication skills; and experience with Word and Excel.
- Be at least 18 years of age.
- Have a valid State of Illinois Class D Driver\'s License. Applicants should possess a driving history with no moving violations for at least the last twelve (12) months.
