Job Description:

We are currently seeking skilled Plumbing Helpers with a minimum of 2 years plumbing experience specific to new construction of medical facilities or commercial construction in the Fort Myers and Naples areas. The Plumber's Helper must be able to assist journeyman plumber with expediting of pipe, fittings, vales and materials, and alignment of pipe; Proper use of tools; Perform pipe cutting, testing, pipe prefabrication, vent line installation, drain line installation, trap installation, solder operation, fixture rough-in, screw pipe and fitting installation, light rigging, plastic pipe installation, cutting, threading and bending pipe to required angles, etc. As a helper you will assist Journeymen Plumbers assemble, install or repair pipes, fittings or fixtures of heating, water or drainage systems according to specifications of plumbing codes; Provide assistance to Foreman and Plumbers on job site.

Duties and Responsibilities:

•Cutting, threating and bending pipe to required angles; pipe fabrication.

•Locating and marking positions of piping, connections and passage holes for pipe in walls and floors.

•Cutting openings in walls and floors to accommodate pipe and pipe fittings.

•Assembling and installing valves, pipe fittings and pipes composed of metals and non-metals.

•Joining pipes by use of screws, bolts, fittings and solder.

•Testing pipes by filling them with water or air and reads gauges to determine whether system is working accurately.

•Installing and repairing plumbing fixtures.

•Repairing and maintaining plumbing by replacing washers, mending burst pipes and opening clogged drains.

Requirements:

•2 years’ field experience specific to Medical Facilities.

•Minimum OSHA certification 10 hours.

•Must possess a current valid driver’s license.

•Flexibility for travel and working overtime/weekends, as required.

•Experience working with hand tools, power tools and electronic test equipment.

•Maintain a clean appearance, integrity and professionalism on job site.

•Ability to climb ladders, lift and carry 50 lbs.
