The Quality & Food Safety Technician will be responsible for efficiently ensuring the safety of our raw goods, work-in-process product, and finished product, emphasizing food safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
Shift Hours: Monday through Friday 3PM to 11:30PM (Additional hours as Needed)
What are we looking for?
Education and Professional Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
Knowledge/Experience
Experience with Ready To Eat, or pet food manufacturing with progressive leadership responsibilities; GFSI (FSSC 22000 preferred)
Understanding of G Suite tools including Slides, Sheets, and Docs
Requirements:
Strong verbal and written communication skills (Ability to deal tactfully and courteously with co-workers and vendors)
Ability to think critically, troubleshoot, and problem-solve.
Must be flexible to work weekends, other shifts and multiple locations as needed.
Able to work well independently, self-motivated, and as a team member.
Able to perform work duties in cold temperatures ranging from negative 10 to 35 degrees
Able to meet the physical requirements of the position requiring heavy lifting up to 50 pounds carrying tools and supplies, kneeling, stooping, climbing, and standing on feet for long periods of time.
What will be your key responsibilities?
Assist Quality Manager in cultural development and implementation of food safety and quality standards.
Review records in our Quality System for all operations departments (Safety Chain)
Implements, adheres, and audits all food safety and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) requirements.
Daily checks/audits building wide
Temperature checks
product quality check
Monitors production records for completion and accuracy.
Accurately and efficiently enters data
Perform environmental swabbing and report results accurately.
Verify lot code information of raw goods and finished product.
Prepare ingredient/work-in-process/finished product samples for third party laboratory testing
Verify instruments and equipment for accuracy, including calibration when necessary
Perform and accurately document pre-operational inspections of facility, equipment and instruments and report findings
Monitor supply inventory
