Job Title: Environmental Technician

Job Description

We are seeking an Environmental Engineer based in Murfreesboro, TN, with the flexibility to travel throughout the Chattanooga and Knoxville areas. The role involves fieldwork such as the installation of flow monitors within sewer lines, rainfall monitoring equipment, and more. This position requires working outdoors in varying weather conditions and drainage systems, ensuring the accuracy and maintenance of data and equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Install flow monitors within sewer lines.

  • Install rainfall monitoring equipment.

  • Calibrate flow monitors.

  • Collect and review sewer flow and rainfall data for accuracy.

  • Operate and maintain flow monitors and rainfall gauges.

  • Inspect manholes manually or with telemonitoring equipment.

  • Conduct flow isolations, smoke testing, dye water flooding, and site inspection.

  • Maintain accurate, legible, and organized records in accordance with all quality work instructions.

  • Maintain vehicle and equipment to ensure safety, mechanical soundness, and productive operation.

  • Adhere to all safety work procedures and company policies, procedures, and safety work instructions.

  • Travel and work overtime hours as required.

  • Complete all required internal and external training requirements and certifications.

  • Perform other duties as required.

Essential Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or related field; or an Associate's degree in Engineering.

  • Basic computer skills, including proficiency with Windows-based operating platforms and Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.

  • Manual dexterity and willingness to work outdoors.

  • Ability to function effectively in a team environment.

  • Capability to achieve daily productivity targets.

  • Willingness to travel.

  • Commitment to fostering a healthy safety culture.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in environmental science, engineering, sewer testing, sampling, and technical reporting.

  • Knowledge in civil engineering, environmental engineering, and water systems.

Work Environment

The work environment involves outdoor fieldwork in varying weather conditions and drainage systems. The schedule is Monday through Thursday. Benefits include a career path with potential progression from Field Technician to Field Supervisor, Field Manager, and Project Manager. Employees are offered one week of vacation, six holidays, a per diem of $45/day for food, covered hotel expenses, and car or mileage reimbursement.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00/hr.
