Naval Air Systems Command AIRCRAFT ORDNANCE SYSTEMS REPAIRER in Naval Air Station Jacksonville, Florida

Summary You will serve as an AIRCRAFT ORDNANCE SYSTEMS REPAIRER in the PROD LINES DIV, MRO PRODUCTION DEPT of FLTREADCEN SOUTHEAST. Responsibilities You will interpret blueprints, schematics, airframe, or aircrew changes to complete repairs to aircraft ordnance systems. You will analyze operating trends to determine repairs needed to test escape system components. You will determine required tools, sequence of repair, and test equipment needed to perform tasks related to aircraft ordnance systems. You will use measuring instruments to detect malfunctions in aircraft ordnance electrical systems. You will remove, install, repair, and test ejection seat components on multiple aircraft platforms. This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. The Screen-out Element for this position is: ABILITY TO DO THE WORK OF THE POSITION WITHOUT MORE THAN NORMAL SUPERVISION: 1) Troubleshooting, modifying, overhauling, installing/removing aircraft ordnance/ armament systems: i.e. Ejection Seats (several of which are unique), Aircraft Armament Systems, and Aircraft Egress Systems. 2) Installing and troubleshooting ejection seat components such as: Inertia Reels, Harness Release Actuators, Time Delay Mechanisms, Drogue Guns, Bell Crank Firing Control Assemblies, and various other mechanically and ballistically operated mechanisms utilizing mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical principles of operation. 3) Assembling, repairing and installing aircraft armament systems components/parts such as the M61Al gun handling system, bomb racks, missile launchers, pylon and chaff bucket assemblies. 4) Installing and troubleshooting Aircraft egress system components which include: SMDC, FCDC, TLX, Fire Bottle, Dry Bay Suppression System, and other various explosive devices in the egress systems. 5) Utilizing knowledge and technical expertise to analyze and interpret the use of blueprints, schematics, work drawings and technical publications of various types of aircraft and systems.
