Summary This is a public notice flyer to notify interested applicants of anticipated vacancies through the Modified DoD Direct Hire Authority. Applications will not be accepted through this flyer. Responsibilities You will perform a variety of metal repair, fabrication, plan, layout and structural disassembly/assembly of aircraft and aircraft components. You will work from drawings, manuals, technical directives, instructions and at times, under the guidance of a higher-graded mechanic. You will disassemble, repair, assemble, modify, measure, and/or check, as required, to process aircraft, aircraft engine structures, components, assembles, and/or sub-assemblies. You will work with plastics and various metals and apply knowledge of basic level shop mathematics. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time. Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the job elements and screen out listed below. The ability to perform common tasks including: 1) Performing a variety of metal repair, fabrication, plan, layout, and structural disassembly/assembly of aircraft and aircraft components; 2) Utilizing measuring instruments such steel rules, drill gauges, compasses, and other precision-measuring devices and hand power tools to form sheet metals; and 3) Laying out and planning work in accordance with instructions, blueprints, technical manuals, and engineering specifications. Education Additional Information This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program. Several vacancies may be filled.
