The Position
Administrative Assistants perform a broad variety of clerical, secretarial and administrative support duties in an assigned agency, program or other work unit within State government and the Nevada System of Higher Education.

This recruitment is for a Front Desk Receptionist position, located in Las Vegas, Nevada, within the Hearings Division's Hearings Office. The incumbent will call hearings at the direction of the Officer and routes the appropriate parties properly to corresponding courtrooms. Answers multi-line phone system prioritizes the incoming calls in a high-volume environment; direct callers to the appropriate staff member or assist callers with questions. This position is responsible for properly date and time stamping all incoming documents and mail. Process all incoming/outgoing mail, by sorting, logging in Time Matters under the appropriate case number, and distributing all documents to proper staff member or Attorney/Insurer/TPA mailbox. In addition, this position must process all return mail accurately by updating appropriate forms to make sure the contact database is current. This position will also be responsible for assisting with various duties that include, but are not limited to, maintaining a check log, breaking down file folders for recycled use, shredding and updating the NRS/NAC library, and maintaining proper supply for reception and copy areas. To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
Graduation from high school or equivalent education and two years of clerical and administrative support experience which included experience in one or more of the following areas: maintaining records and files; preparing a variety of materials using a personal computer or word processor; assisting customers in completing forms and applications; and/or performing secretarial duties in support of professional staff; OR one year of experience as an Administrative Assistant I in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.Special Requirements
A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for these items. This position requires a valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility at the time of appointment and for continuing employment.Additional Position Criteria
