The salary range indicated in this announcement is based on the Employee/Employer retirement compensation schedule. An employer-only option is available at a reduced salary range. The Position

Administrative Services Officers function as business managers for a large division or major program area or facility, with responsibility for accounting, budgeting and business management of various services and operations.

This Administrative Services Officer 2 (ASO2) position serves in the Student Investment Division's Office of District Support Services (ODSS). This position can be filled in Carson City, Las Vegas, or Elko depending upon the needs of the agency and the chosen candidate. The incumbent is responsible for preparing and submitting all required state and federal financial reports, reconciling school district and charter school expenditure reports, and submitting federal maintenance of effort and compliance documents, in alignment with GAAP and GASB. Additionally, the position is responsible for reconciling school district and charter school's Annual Comprehensive Financial Reports to the expenditure reports, establishing processes and timelines for annual determination of Indirect Cost Rates for school districts, and for annual submission and review of Exceptional Enrollment Growth Adjustment requests. The ASO2 in ODSS is responsible for the maintenance of the Nevada Department of Education's Chart of Accounts in alignment with the Financial Accounting for Local and State School Systems published by the US Department of Education, and for reviewing many funds, budget statements, and compiling data following accounting policies and procedures. Provision of technical assistance and training and ongoing communication with both internal and external partners is required. Opportunities to contribute to policy decisions regarding school finance may be required as needed.

To Qualify:

In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:

Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in business administration, accounting, finance or related field and four years of professional experience including two years of responsibility for major business operations/functions such as grants administration, contract and lease administration, purchasing and warehouse operations, human resources, Information Technology or facilities maintenance and construction; and two years of experience formulating, developing and analyzing program or agency budgets; and fiscal management; one year of which was equivalent to an Administrative Services Officer I in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.
