The Position
Clinical Social Workers provide clinical services to clients/inmates in a residential, home, inpatient, outpatient, rehabilitation, correctional or similar setting.
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training.
The Division of Public and Behavioral Health Northern Nevada Adult Mental Health Services in Sparks is hiring for a Clinical Social Worker 2. This position will provide clinical services to clients in Dini-Townsend Hospital including but not limited to providing evaluations and psychosocial assessments of patients; developing and coordinating treatment plans and implementing interventions with patients; conducting individual, family, and group therapy or intervention sessions; developing and implementing discharge and aftercare plans; functioning as a liaison with court officials; and performing crisis intervention (CPI) including patient restraint or appropriate behavioral and environmental controls for patients if necessary. Dini-Townsend is a 30-bed acute psychiatric hospital for individuals with Severe Mental Illness (SMI). Clinical Social Worker's will work under our Director of Social Services. In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
Licensure as a Clinical Social Worker by the Board of Examiners for Social Workers.Special Notes
Incumbents must obtain and maintain licensure or provisional licensure to engage in social work as a Clinical Social Worker or associate in social work in accordance with NRS Chapter 641B and the regulations adopted by the Board of Examiners for Social Workers. Persons employed by a government agency on July 1, 1988 as a social worker, supervisor of social work or administrator of social work who were performing clinical social work duties, and who possess a license to practice as an associate in social work and who meet the experience requirements are eligible to compete in the selection process for this series.Special Requirements
A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for these items. A valid driver's license is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment.The Examination
