APPROXIMATE ANNUAL SALARY - $48,086.64 to $70,282.08 PAY GRADE: 28
The salary range indicated in this announcement is based on the Employee/Employer retirement compensation schedule. An employer-only option is available at a reduced salary range. Generally, salaries start at the lowest level of a step 1 and increase with each year of service to the highest level of a step 10.

The Position
Unemployment Insurance Representatives perform a broad variety of activities related to the timely and accurate processing and payment of unemployment insurance benefit claims.
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training. This recruitment is for an Unemployment Insurance Representative 2, underfill for Unemployment Insurance Representative 3. The incumbent will progress to the next level as they meet minimum qualifications.-
This position adjudicates unemployment insurance claims issues concerning eligibility to receive benefits; gathers information and conducts fact-finding telephone interviews to identify and resolve issues; and writes and distributes decisions concerning entitlement to unemployment insurance benefits. Incumbents interview claimants, employers and any third party necessary to obtain facts and information; apply appropriate sections of State laws and regulations; administrative policies and procedures to determine case outcomes; interpret and explain laws, procedures, policies and requirements to unemployment insurance claimants and employers.- This position may be required to work weekends, or hours outside the traditional 8:00 am to 5:00 pm schedule.- All applicants are considered without regard to race, color, national origin, religion or belief, age, disability, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, pregnancy, domestic partnership, genetic information (GINA), or compensation and/or wages. To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
One year of experience as an Unemployment Insurance Representative I in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.Special Requirements
A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for fingerprinting.Additional Position Criteria
The ability to speak, write and read Spanish and English is required.The Examination
