Job Description: Seeking an accounting professional to join a dynamic construction, development and asset management company with offices in Florida and Massachusetts. Position requires an entrepreneurial mindset and a willingness to develop and implement processes to streamline accounting functions. The optimal candidate will have experience in both operations finance and taxation to remain ahead of market trends and tax changes. REPORTS TO: President POSITION REQUIREMENTS Education: Bachelor?s Degree in Accounting or Finance. Experience and Required Skills: 10+ years? experience in construction and/or development and/or real estate services industry. The ability to manage-up to an entrepreneurial owner is a must. This may be the biggest challenge to the job ? do not underestimate its importance. POSITION SUMMARY: ? Manage Financial Department to execute day to day operations ? As a Senior Team Member manage the financial requirements of the company. Development Project equity and debt financing, division budgets and cash flow, asset budgets and cash flow, investor quarterly reports, company metric reports to President, etc ? Support of multiple growth and strategic development opportunities ? Provide financial guidance and insights regarding capital capacity, leverage analysis and cash flow ? Provide a sounding board to the owner ? Protect the company from legal and financial risks ? Coordinate company financial planning and budget management functions. ? Provide cost analysis and reports on project financial performance ? Monitor and analyze monthly operating results against budget ? Support Asset Manager in debt financing and service ? Draft the annual report of actual revenues, transfers, and expenses ? Prepare financial outlooks and financial forecasts for the company and managed assets ? Prepare financial analysis for contract negotiations and product investment decisions ? Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal budgetary reporting requirements ? Provide guidance and support for service division directors ? Establish and implement departmental goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures ? Design, establish, and maintain department and staff effectively ? Daily cash management ? Construction and owner?s loan requisitions ? Tax planning and compliance ? Reporting to clients and lenders ? Proficient in Yardi (or other construction platform) & QuickBooks accounting systems KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS: ? Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. Knowledge of automated financial and accounting reporting systems. Knowledge of federal and state financial regulations. Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements and projections. Working knowledge of short- and long-term budgeting and forecasting, rolling budgets, and product-line profitability analysis. ? Work requires professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to motivate teams to produce quality materials within tight time frames and simultaneously manage several projects. Ability to participate in and facilitate group meetings. ? Ability to understand company strategy, influence that strategy and work effectively with the personality of the owner. Provide guidance, a different perspective and alternatives to the owner. ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES ? Provide accounting policy orientation for new staff. ? Manage accounting staff and create inclusion environment providing coaching and feedback to improve performance ? Interface with outside accountants ?
