Posting Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Research Associate I for The Boggs Center at the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.Under the direction of The Boggs Center Faculty, supports grant funded research and demonstration projects conducting the essential duties and responsibilities listed below.Among the key duties of this position are the following:
  • Daily communication with Principal Investigator and related faculty on assigned projects.
  • Collaborates with PI, project staff, and disability and/or human development related entities to identify needs related to research, reporting, and information.
  • Submits and follows up on new research applications or amendments of existing projects, recruits study participants, schedules study visits, obtains informed consent for study participation, and maintains necessary study documentation.
  • Conducts research activities including but not limited to development and distribution of surveys and facilitating focus groups and/or interviews.
  • Leads development of reports and articles at the guidance of PI and related faculty.
  • Provides coordinative assistance to PI and related faculty/staff by coordinating projects, programs, functions, and organizing project operations.
  • Manages team of research coordinators and research assistants under the guidance of the PI and related faculty

Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience
  • Doctorate in a relevant field plus two (2) year of related research experience, or a PHD in a relevant field plus two (2) years of related research experience.
  • Educational experience can be used in lieu of employment experience.
  • Experience and proficiency using PC software programs including PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Adobe Professional and Internet.
Certifications/Licenses
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Proficiency with Adobe Acrobat Professional document creation and markup.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience using statistical software such as Stata, SPSS and SAS.
  • Experience working with people with disabilities and families.

  • Physical Demands: Ability to lift up to 25lbs to move materials.
  • Work Environment: Generally pleasant working conditions in a clean, well-lighted quiet to moderately loud setting.
