Job Title: Welding Engineer

Job Description

Our company proudly manufactures seats and interior components for cars, motorcycles, and recreational vehicles. We have facilities across the United States, Canada, Brazil, and Mexico, employing over 7,000 associates. Our Indiana facility, located in New Castle, focuses on seat manufacturing and assembly and houses around 600 employees. We are looking for a Weld Engineer to join our engineering team due to the addition of two new production lines. This role will be responsible for overseeing two laser weld cells, troubleshooting weld processes, and ensuring efficient welding operations.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and maintain laser weld cells, ensuring correct operations.

• Work with 3D data scans to verify welding accuracy.

• Evaluate and troubleshoot welding issues, such as pinholes and bad welds.

• Reteach robots as needed, including setting tip depth and walking through moves.

• Develop weld maps and balances for efficient welding.

• Work towards becoming the laser weld safety engineer, obtaining necessary certification.

Essential Skills

• Associates or Bachelor's degree in Engineering.

• 1+ year of experience in a welding or welding engineering position (1+ year with a bachelor's degree, 3+ years with an associate's degree).

• Ability to obtain a laser safety weld certification.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with AWS certifications.

Work Environment

The facility operates with 597 total employees over three shifts, manufacturing automotive seats primarily using robotic welders. The environment is very clean, quiet, and climate-controlled. This is a first-shift position with core hours from 8 am to 3 pm, with flexibility for early start times and alternate schedules. Minimal weekend work is required, primarily during large projects. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $36.06 - $45.67/hr.
