Job Title: Forklift Operator

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Forklift Operator to operate a sit-down propane quad forklift. The ideal candidate will be responsible for picking customer orders, stacking them on pallets, and ensuring the safe handling of steel pipe fittings. Regular tasks include wrapping pallets, staging orders for trucks, and loading completed pallets onto trucks. The position requires lifting up to 50 lbs regularly and changing propane tanks on forklifts.

Responsibilities

• Operate sit-down propane quad forklift.

• Pick customer orders and stack them on pallets.

• Handle boxes of steel pipe fittings, lifting up to 50 lbs regularly.

• Wrap pallets and stage orders for trucks.

• Load trucks with completed pallets.

• Change propane tanks on forklifts.

Essential Skills

• 1+ year of sit-down propane quad forklift experience.

• Experience with RF Scanner.

• 1+ year of order picking experience.

• Experience moving products into and out of high five racks.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Heavy lifting required.

Work Environment

This position is based in a large warehouse with approximately six employees, including order pickers, forklift operators, a supervisor, and a lead. The facility is not climate-controlled, meaning it can be cold in the winter and hot in the summer. The warehouse is filled with pipe fittings, and the role involves regular heavy lifting.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of New Lenox, Illinois.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $19.25
