Job Title : Risk Manager

Reports To: Chief Financial Officer

Location: New Orleans

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Risk Manager to join our team. The Risk Manager will be responsible for identifying, assessing, and mitigating potential risks that may impact the company's operations, financial stability, and reputation. The successful candidate will develop and implement risk management strategies, policies, and procedures to ensure the company's assets and interests are protected.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify and assess potential risks across all areas of the company's operations, including financial, operational, legal, and reputational risks.

  • Develop and implement risk management strategies, policies, and procedures to minimize potential risks and ensure compliance with industry regulations and best practices.

  • Conduct regular risk assessments and audits to identify areas of vulnerability and recommend appropriate risk mitigation measures.

  • Handle all insurance claims from start to finish in collaboration with finance and safety departments.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance, legal, operations, and human resources, to ensure risk management practices are integrated into all aspects of the company's operations.

  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of risk management strategies and make recommendations for improvements as necessary.

  • Develop and deliver risk management training programs to educate employees on risk identification, assessment, and mitigation techniques.

  • Establish and maintain relationships with external stakeholders, including insurance providers, legal counsel, and regulatory agencies, to ensure the company's risk management needs are met.

  • Prepare and present risk management reports to senior management and the board of directors, highlighting key risks, mitigation strategies, and recommended actions.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in risk management, finance, business administration, or a related field. A master's degree or professional certification in risk management is preferred.

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in risk management, construction experience a plus.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and make sound decisions.

  • Strong understanding of relevant industry regulations and compliance requirements.

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate complex risk concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

  • Proficient in using risk management software and tools.

  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
