Accounting Operations Analyst (2 Vacancies)
POSITION DETAILS
Reporting to the Associate Director of University Accounting Operations, the Accounting Operations Analyst processes entries and requests in the New York State’s Financial System (SFS), the City’s Financial Management System (FMS), and the University’s General Ledger CUNYfirst (CF) to provide accurate accounting and maintain the integrity of the data in the University’s financial systems and sub-systems. The incumbent will work closely with the Colleges’ Budget and Business offices, the University Treasury Office, the University Budget Office, and various New York City and New York State agencies.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Assist with processing Senior and Community College requests in the New York State’s Financial System and City’s Financial Management System respectively.
Liaise with the City and State Comptroller’s Offices and Community and Senior Colleges.
Under supervision prepare general ledger journal entries in CF, SFS, and FMS; prepare bi-weekly credit card reconciliations, and assist with processing Central Office requests to create and update requisitions and receipts in CF.
Assist with preparing monthly reconciliations, including, but not limited to Income Fund Reimbursable (IFR), cash reconciliation in SFS and CF, IFR transfer reconciliation in CF, expense reconciliation reports between the CF and SFS/FMS by personal services (PS), other than personal services (OTPS), and fringe.
Work with the team to process bi-weekly payroll data from the State and City to generate PS entries to interface into CF.
Assist in preparing accrual schedules at year-end (community college summer payroll accrual, senior college split payroll accrual) and submission to City and State agencies.
With supervision, prepare quarterly schedules on Income Fund Reimbursable (IFR) for Senior Colleges to reimburse Central Office for fringe.
Assist the Financial Reporting and Analysis team with year-end audit schedules, reconciliations and various analysis to prepare the University’s Consolidated Financial Statements and footnotes to complete the University’s annual audit.
Provide support to schools and other Central Office departments with CUNYfirst Account Receivable and Billing modules, and support ongoing Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) implementations.
NOTE:
Until further notice, this position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum:
Bachelor's Degree required.
Preferred:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field, MBA and/or CPA is a plus
Knowledge of GASB reporting requirements
Advanced knowledge of:
MS Office and database applications
Excel spreadsheet formulas (v-lookup, pivot-tables, sorting functions)
PeopleSoft and Workday experience a plus
Detail-oriented with excellent writing, analytical, evaluative, and organizational skills plus strong presentation, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
Ability to work effectively with diverse internal and external stakeholders and constituents of various levels in a time-sensitive, dynamic, and customer responsive office

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
The salary range for this position is $54,268 - $75,131 , commensurate with education, skills, and experience.
