Neuberger Berman Data Management, Senior Analyst - Alternative Investments in New York, New York

We are looking for a hands-on Client Reporting and Data Analytics Data Analyst to join our Data Management team to lead and coordinate strategic initiatives around the firms’ core data platforms within the Alternative Investments space. This role will analyze business requirements, and engage with stakeholders across various Technology, Operations, Client Reporting and Investment teams by ensuring integrity, accuracy, and usability of data across our client reporting and operational platforms to ensure successful implementation of several strategic data initiatives, ongoing BAU enhancements, and critical production updates across our client reporting platform. This role contributes to our ability to deliver critical insights to stakeholders, optimize processes and maintain a competitive edge.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of offshore resources to deliver client reporting dashboards on a quarterly basis by managing and maintaining data pipelines for Alternative Investment Products

  • Manage quarterly deliverables (reconciliations, data loads, process trackers and after-action reports) to ensure timelines are met and continuous improvement processes are evaluated.

  • Evaluate and remediate systemic issues which impact timelines and deliverables from quarter to quarter.

  • Partner across technology, operations, compliance, and front office business stakeholders to understand processes and utilization of data within the firm to address challenges and implement scalable solutions.

  • Maintain and update existing procedures and standards while working with stakeholders to identify and create new processes and models as needed.

  • Lead requirements gathering and analysis in collaboration with team members to attain high reusability and maintainability by building flexible data models and workflows for seamless integration points

  • Continually seeks opportunities to increase customer satisfaction and deepen client relationships.

  • Facilitate project management duties including stand ups, sprint planning and other Agile ceremonies

  • Perform detailed analysis of large datasets to identify anomalies, improve data quality, and assess the business impact of data issues.

  • Develop workflows and controls to ensure that data related to Alternative Investments meets regulatory and internal standards.

  • Ability to put together mockups, training materials.

  • Facilitate user acceptance testing (UAT) to confirm that system updates and new reporting tools meet business requirements.

  • Build out technical workflow diagrams to assist in the design and implementation of best practice data management controls and procedures.

Qualifications:

  • BS or BA Degree in Business, Finance, Computer Science or related field

  • 3-5 years of experience in client reporting, data analysis, or data management within Financial Services (Alternative Investments highly preferred)

  • Knowledge of systems that support the deal lifecycle preferred such as Aladdin, Salesforce, Everest.

  • Strong proficiency in SQL, Excel, and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).

  • Experience with data pipeline management, ETL processes, and data governance best practices.

  • Strong background in Data Analysis and Analytics and ability to manage and analyze large sets of data, identify anomalies, and improve data quality

  • Skilled at managing manual processes while implementing automation and streamlining workflows.

  • Ability to liaise with Front office, IT, Operation and Compliance teams.

  • Hands-on experience with Agile project management frameworks and tools (e.g., JIRA, Confluence).

  • Proven ability to coordinate and lead Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives.

  • Experience coordinating end-to-end user acceptance testing (UAT)

  • Strong sense of professional pride, individual accountability and being able to thrive in a fast paced, matrixed environment

Nice to have:

  • Familiarity with Alternative Investments asset classes and deal lifecycle processes

  • Experience with project delivery of complex enterprise application systems, distributed applications, web applications, or system integration solutions is preferred.

  • Knowledge of financial services operations and regulatory standards related to data management and reporting.

Compensation Details

The salary range for this role is $60,000-$110,000. This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. This range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in the job posting location. An employee’s pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, business sector, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, market benchmarking data, any collective bargaining agreements, and business or organizational needs. This job is also eligible for a discretionary bonus, which, along with base salary and retirement contributions, is part of our total comprehensive package. We offer a comprehensive package of benefits including paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance, 401(k), life insurance and other benefits to eligible employees.
