Compensation

Salary Range: Min. $73,022 - Mid. $94,222 (Grade F, 464 Points)

Responsibilities

This position supports the Assistant Director of one of three Subway Squads (IRT, BMT, or IND) in coordinating the development and production of efficient, economical and reliable timetables and work programs for groups of subway lines in the Department of Subways/Division of Service Delivery, for both Picks and supplement schedules. The incumbent is responsible for mentoring staff in the development of scheduling skills, is in charge of the Squad when the Assistant Director is out of the office, manages Assistant Schedule Managers and non-managerial staff in the Squad and represents the Assistant Director as needed in meetings with service planners, Transport Workers Union Representatives, Service Delivery and others.

Education and Experience

A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college with a major in Transportation Management, Engineering, Mathematics, Planning or Transportation Planning or a related field, and five (5) years of progressively responsible transportation experience, three (3) years of which must have been in a supervisory or managerial capacity; OR

A satisfactory equivalent of education and experience.

Desired Skills

Knowledge of Subway ridership and schedule making, as well as NYCT rail operations, route network, service policies and union contracts.

Familiarity with statistics and proficient in reading and understanding service plans and the use of HASTUS software that produces timetables and work programs.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
