HCCS Teacher (High School) - Social Studies, Grades 7-12

GENERAL DUTIES

Hunter College High School, a grade 7-12 school for intellectually gifted students, seeks a High School Teacher. In additional to classroom teaching duties in subjects noted below, he/she works collaboratively with specialist teachers, administrators, and other learning professionals, maintains communications with parents and guardians, and performs related duties.

CAMPUS SPECIFIC INFORMATION

To teach classes in the area of Social Studies, grades 7-12.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree and New York State 7-12 teacher certification is preferred and required within the first four years of employment; teaching experience desirable.

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS

Preferred: Experience in teaching in diverse schools; experience in developing curriculum content that relates to multiple perspectives; demonstrated multicultural competency and ability to build strong relationships with students from a variety of backgrounds; demonstrated commitment to building and sustaining an inclusive community.

COMPENSATION

Hunter College Campus Schools follow the salary guidelines of the New York City Department of Education. Salary commensurate with academic accomplishments and experience ($61,070 - $128,657).
