Job Title: Mechanical EngineerJob Description

We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to design mechanical systems including heating, cooling, heat rejection, air and hydronic distribution systems, ventilation, air conditioning, and building automation and controls. The candidate will perform system design calculations and analyze mechanical system options using industry-standard engineering and energy modeling software. The candidate should be knowledgeable with all relevant building codes and standards.

Responsibilities

• Prepare design documents to detail the mechanical systems in basis of design report, drawing (Revit), and specification formats.

• Review design deliverables to ensure technical accuracy and presentation quality.

• Coordinate work with architects and engineers of other disciplines.

• Manage projects to ensure timely technical delivery and day-to-day liaison with design and client teams.

• Mentor junior engineers within the team to develop their careers and design standards.

Essential Skills

• Mechanical engineering

• Mechanical design

• AutoCAD proficiency (Revit is a plus)

• Building design and drafting

• Knowledge of building codes and HVAC systems

• Experience managing projects

• Familiarity with ASHRAE Standards and LEED certification

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering

• 10-20 years of experience as a Mechanical Engineer

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with healthcare, data centers, central plants, and municipal projects

• Revit MEP

• Engineering

• Sustainable energy

• AutoCAD design

• Construction documents

• Plumbing

• Professional Engineer (P.E.) certification highly preferred

• Revit experience

Work Environment

The majority of projects are within the metro area. The company offers several office outings such as fishing trips, trivia nights, happy hours, bowling nights, and a company softball team. There is an opportunity to become a partner down the line with 2% profit sharing. The firm is an A/E firm which many engineers enjoy working for and provides help with paying for certificates. Employees have the opportunity to work on multiple project types.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $55.00
