Job Title: Mechanical Estimator (Fully Remote)

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Estimator to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will coordinate and participate in pre-bid and takeoff meetings to strategize the estimating process, oversee and finalize all takeoffs, bid packages, and schedules of values completed by estimators prior to submission. Additionally, this role involves reviewing, finalizing, and submitting change orders, as well as collecting and analyzing project costs to ensure accurate estimates. The candidate will also identify and quantify potential cost uncertainties to ensure costing models capture the full range of potential costs.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and participate in pre-bid and takeoff meetings to strategize the estimating process.

• Oversee and finalize all takeoffs, bid packages, and schedules of values completed by estimators prior to submission to ensure accuracy.

• Review, finalize, and submit change orders.

• Collect and analyze all project costs, including raw materials, labor/manpower, equipment, and tools to ensure estimates are accurate.

• Identify and quantify potential cost uncertainties to ensure costing models capture the full range of potential costs.

Essential Skills

• 5+ years of MEP estimating experience.

• Proficiency in Excel and Onscreen Takeoff.

• Experience with mechanical and plumbing estimating.

• Experience estimating for large-scale projects.

• Experience supporting commercial, hospitality, or retail projects.

• Experience estimating for fire alarm, fire protection, and HVAC.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience supporting large-scale projects outside of NYC is a plus.

Work Environment

This is a fully remote position with working hours from 8:30am to 5pm. The role supports the Cost Management MEP division within a high-end construction consulting office. You will be working for the MEP Director within the Cost Estimation department. The company is based in England, and many team members are sent over from England. The work environment is very professional, and the firm is known for its reputable name in the industry, promoting from within, and providing equipment for remote work. You will have the opportunity to work on very elaborate and large-scale projects with minimal turnover in the MEP division.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $65.00/hr.
