Project FIND’s mission is to provide low- and moderate-income and homeless seniors with the services and support they need to enrich their lives and live independently. Today Project FIND operates three supportive housing residences that are home to about 600 people and four senior centers with over 3,000 members. Please visit our website at: www.projectfind.org.Job Summary:Reporting to the Director of Facilities and Maintenance, the Painter is responsible for needed painting throughout the building including vacant and occupied units and offices. Responsibilities Include:Prepares unit for painting including discarding of old furniture, beds and other debris to ready the unit for painting including cleaning, dusting, wiping down windowsills etc.Preps unit including spackling/plastering, filling cracks, taping, priming and painting identified areas including the bathrooms. Performs minor carpentry, drywall, frame, repair woodwork and install vinyl floor tiles.Polishes and waxes floor, installs new furniture and appliances.Inspects building for painting in conjunction with the Director of Facilities Maintenance.Inventories painting materials and supplies to ensure all are in proper order and materials are on hand when needed.Adjusts and makes minor repairs to furniture, office equipment, door closer, gravity hinges, sheetrock, doors, etc.Assists with apartment preparation to make rooms move-in ready.Performs minor locksmithing and light carpentry duties as needed related to vacant apartments. Performs stripping, waxing, and buffs floors in vacant apartments, corridors. replace vinyl tiles.Assists with maintenance duties when there is no painting needed including garbage removal.Assists in removal of snow and ice during the winter and spreads de-ice to prevent slipping when painting is not needed.Performs other related duties as assigned by supervisor.Qualifications:High School Diploma or GEDAbility to sit, walk and stand for numerous hours.Ability to lift packages and other items up to 10 pounds.Excellent customer service skills and ability to establish and maintain polite, professional and effective working relationships with all contacts during the performance of duties including tenants.Good oral and written communication skills.Shows initiative and is responsible for follow through of tasks.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Basic level computer skills; Microsoft Word and Excel.Demonstrated flexibility with ability to change priorities with limited notice including working overtime and, on the weekends, when needed.
