Position Summary
The Department of Music is seeking a full-time, permanent Program Coordinator for a 9-month annual appointment (August 12th - December 22nd and January 20th - June 15th). Reporting to the Director of the Music Performance Program (MPP), the Program Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating the classical side of the Music Performance Program, in addition to the general administration of the MPP office and initiatives. Extended availability is required during the first week of classes and the weekends of end-of-semester concerts (dates will be communicated in advance).
This position is 100% in-person.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate, attend, and assist with auditions and placements of musicians in ensembles and lessons.
- Implement and inform students about the MPP's new initiatives.
- Liaise with guest artists for concerts and master classes.
- Responsible for programming and scheduling all student concerts, recitals, and program events/receptions/seminars/lessons/coaching/info sessions.
- Serve as a liaison between MPP Director, MPP faculty, guest artists, students, prospective students and MPP music associates.
- Represent the MPP in conversations with prospective students.
- Update and enter the Fall & Spring curriculum.
- Work with the DAAF and Registrar's Office regarding student registration issues.
- Design and disseminate advertisement materials for all concerts.
- Update the MPP website and ensure content is accurate.
- Coordinate piano tuning/maintenance schedule, room bookings, social media, and local community presence.
- Assist instructors with classroom technology, as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent and two years of related work experience.
Strong background in classical music, knowledge of chamber ensembles, digital marketing, website, and graphic design, as well as fluency in Excel, Google Suite, and Photoshop required.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous work experience in a university setting and/or with an arts organization.
Other Requirements
Strong organizational skills, excellent written and oral communication skills, as well as attention to detail are required; demonstrated ability to manage projects independently.
