S&P Global Market Intelligence Inc. seeks a Quality Engineer who will build automation scripts and framework for quality assurance (QA) during Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) and Extract, Load, and Transform (ELT) testing. Ensure data quality and data consistency. Define quality standards and metrics for projects/products. Work with stakeholders to ensure quality metrics are reviewed, closed, and agreed upon. Create a list of milestones and checkpoints and set measurable criteria to check quality. Define processes for test plans throughout phases of testing cycle. Plan and schedule milestones, including alpha and beta testing. Ensure all development tasks meet quality criteria through test planning, test execution, quality assurance, and issue tracking. Perform automation and manual testing, including unit, functional, performance, stress, and acceptance testing. Create strategies to mitigate risks and take necessary measures to control risks. Communicating risks to stakeholders and escalate risks as needed. Create milestones for yearly improvement projects. Work with development team to ensure quality engineers are adequately supported with automation hooks or debug builds.REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Information Systems, or related IT field plus two (2) years of experience as a Quality Engineer or related occupation. Two (2) years of experience must include: Running queries, performing data management, managing large data sets, and working with databases; Working with big data technologies and performing ETL testing; Working with SQL, Hive, and SparkSQL and executing Analytical SQL Hive queries; Writing complex SQL Scripts, stored procedures, and integration packages; Tuning and improving database performance of complex enterprise class applications; Python coding skills; Developing comprehensive test strategies, test plans, and test cases to test big data implementation; Utilizing software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies including Agile, QA methodologies, defect management system, and documentation.LOCATION: 55 Water Street, New York, NY 10041 (Telecommuting permitted from anywhere in the U.S.)SALARY RANGE: The anticipated base salary range for this position is $93,375 to $115,850. Final base salary for this role will be based on the individual’s geographic location, as well as experience level, skill set, training, licenses & certifications.
