The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. Position Summary

The Nurture Science Program /COVID-19 Mother Baby Outcomes (COMBO) Initiative Study at the Vagelos College of Physicians & Surgeons of Columbia University is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Research Program Coordinator to join our expanding team. This role is integral to advancing our mission of understanding human connectedness, including aspects such as neurodevelopment, growth, maternal cognitive function, and socioemotional function. The Research Coordinator will play a critical role in managing and coordinating research activities to ensure the integrity and quality of our research outputs.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborates in the preparation of manuscripts for publication and preparation of grant proposals to sponsoring agencies; assists in and tracks the preparation of amendments to protocols and/or modifications to study designs as appropriate.
  • Responsible for the development of forms, questionnaires, and the application of research techniques; assists in writing instructional procedure manuals for study progress, data collection and coding; reviews journals, abstracts and scientific literature to keep abreast of new developments and to obtain information regarding previous studies to aid in the planning of new studies.
  • In conjunction with the Principal Investigator (PI) and other senior staff, designs, implements and manages all phases of study/protocol; ensures compliance with protocol guidelines and requirements of regulatory agencies; identifies problems and/or inconsistencies and monitors participant's progress to include documentation and reporting of adverse events. resolves
  • Prepares IRB submissions and resolves IRB/protocol management issues and recommends corrective action as appropriate.
  • Oversees student interns, FWS, Casuals and assigns appropriate projects.
  • Responsible for training new researchers in lab.
  • Effectively manage financial aspects related to compensating participants, guaranteeing precision and efficiency throughout the process.
  • Organize team gathering and ensure seamless coordination of meetings.
  • Performs other duties incidental to the work described above.
  • Performs related duties & responsibilities as assigned/requested.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in education and experience required; plus three years of related experience.
