Company Details:

Manages V&V activities across Large Scale Transportation Systems (Automated Fare Collections) Projects for City Infrastructure. This position will interface with multiple internal engineering teams. This position will typically work under limited supervision and direction. Incumbents of this position will regularly exercise discretionary and substantial decision-making authority.

Job Requirements:

A four-year degree in engineering, computer science, or a related discipline with at least 8 years of experience in system testing for embedded software for devices, API, Mobile, and web-based applications. Strong experience in Verification and Validation (V&V) processes, managing both manual and automated testing in large scale projects. Must have at least 3 years' experience managing V&V teams of 7+ people.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead system verification and validation (V&V) efforts, ensuring system functionality, and regulatory compliance.
  • Use a Risk Based Testing approach to Develop test plans, procedures to enhance testing efficiency, backed by clear metrics to quantify results.
  • Drive requirements verification and analysis, collaborating with engineering teams to ensure alignment between test requirements and code implementation.
  • Develop early-phase integration testing strategies
  • Oversee the test environment setup, ensuring the proper configuration for system verification and troubleshooting issue via sanity testing.
  • Mentor and coach team members, providing technical feedback and fostering skill development.
  • Analyze field test data, generate test reports, and recommend design improvements based on findings.
  • Manage resource scheduling for V&V activities, including hardware, software, and personnel requirements.
  • Ensure all statutory, regulatory, and quality standards are met throughout the testing process.
  • Provide weekly status updates to management, ensuring visibility into testing progress and challenges.
  • Work closely with the customer and drive Witness (day in life) testing strategy and activities.

Required Skills and Experience:
  • Strong understanding of V&V processes of Systems Engineering including requirements mapping.
  • Proficiency in test management tools (Jira, Confluence, TestRail).
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to manage and mentor teams

Highly Desired:
  • Quality Engineering Certifications (e.g., Certified Software Quality Engineer (CSQE), Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), ISTQB Certified Tester).
  • Project Management Certification (e.g., PMP (Project Management Professional), Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP)
  • Experience working with Transportation Systems is a plus

Cubic Pay Range:

$109,000 - 145,000 + benefits.

The Cubic pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
