Vail Resorts Senior Project Manager in New York

Job Summary
The Vail Resorts Marketing and Guest Services Applications team is looking for a Senior Project Manager to join us! The Senior Project Manager will report to the Senior Program Manager and is responsible for directing work for their project[s], leading program communications, identifying and mitigating risks, and effectively operating in our SDLC structure. They are to manage stakeholder expectations and communications, coordinate with cross-functional IT teams to assess and plan for dependencies, and serve as a team lead by driving forward their personal leadership development path.
Job Responsibilities
Lead day-to-day program management activities including: initiation, planning, resource planning, scope management, dependency management, risk management and stakeholder management
Lead program management communication efforts (status reports, risk/issue tracking, key decision alignment/tracking, presentations, memos, and communication plans) for multiple audiences from resort leaders to company senior leaders
Identify gaps, potential risks and propose options to overcome issues and roadblocks and deliver program objectives on time and to scope
Partner with stakeholders to ensure objectives, dependencies, success criteria, scope, requirements and due dates are defined and delivered upon
Effectively lead and support program meetings including strategic agendas, objectives, and producing meeting notes, tracking incoming and outgoing critical tasks for the of core business deliverables
Make recommendations regarding program needs, SDLC processes, solutions to maintain optimal workflow and team effectiveness
Serve as project manager for elements of the program and related initiatives and assist Senior Program Manager in driving annual strategic and business planning for each application
Actively participate and take personal ownership in your career development through self-assessments, mid-year and annual reviews, goal setting and performance management
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree required or equivalent in related job experience
7+ years of relevant experience in program and projects management for critical, cross-functional technical projects / programs and related communications
Possess excellent self-management skills: organization, goal-setting, time-management, self-motivation, self-direction, stress management, naturally curious, reliable and accountable
Possess a level of detail and accuracy, drive for results, and have the ability to anticipate business needs before requested. Be forward-planning
Ability to navigate multiple priorities and flex in ambiguous situations
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including demonstrated ability to efficiently draft written communication plans and related messages in a compelling and consistent voice
Expertise with the Microsoft Office suite including, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
Ability to work in a highly collaborative, fast-paced and complex environment as a part of a team (IT, Business and Vendors)
Ability to solve a wide range of technical problems of diverse scope and complexity
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working in a marketing applications IT environment
Experience working with various IT toolsets and a matrixed organization
Familiarity with XML, FTP, and APIs
Familiarity with mobile application development, enterprise data warehouses, and cloud infrastructure
Experience with SmartSheet
PMP, CAPM, PMI-CP, PgMP, PMO-CP, or other accredited certification or coursework is a plus
The expected Total Compensation for this role is $125,000 + annual bonus. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
