Job Title: Assembly Technician
Job Description
Carefully read and understand blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine the assembly process. Identify and gather the necessary parts and materials from the parts list to ensure all components are available for assembly. Collect and organize all required parts, sub-assemblies, tools, and materials before starting the assembly process. Ensure that all tools and materials are in good working condition and ready for use. Perform tasks such as wire cutting, stripping, labeling, drilling, and tapping. Strip and label wires according to specifications to prepare them for assembly. Use tools to drill, tap, and bolt components together, ensuring they are securely fastened. Assemble electrical components such as circuit boards, switches, and connectors. Integrate sub-assemblies into the main assembly, ensuring all parts fit correctly and function as intended. Perform power tests on assembled units to ensure they meet voltage, amperage, and load specifications. Identify and resolve any issues that arise during testing to ensure the final product is fully functional. Maintain a safe and clean working environment.
Responsibilities

Essential Skills
Proficiency with hand tools and power tools.
Basic understanding of electrical systems.
Familiarity with NEC codes.
Strong mechanical skills.
Attention to detail.
Ability to follow detailed instructions.
Team collaboration skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Ability to stand for long periods.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Work Environment
Climate-controlled environment. Small shop working with 4 other Assembly Technicians.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Norfolk, Virginia.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $25.00
