Job Summary
Assist the Data Manager in leading and managing the data analysis, management, storage, and integration efforts at ODU Global, Div of Digital Transformation & Technology (fna Digital Learning). Participate in the distribution and collection of original data in the form of surveys and other ad-hoc requests. To support the university faculty, staff, and leadership in providing them visually informative data dashboards and reports which enable them to make decisions. Gathers, integrates, validates, and analyzes data from various institutional and external data sets to compile information related to divisional priorities. Assisting in identifying areas of improvement in the existing processes which includes web, mobile, and online presence which will help all areas within the division of digital learning. Analyzing the ROI will help the internal teams to strategize and make the necessary changes which will help the end user in their journey from inquiring about ODU programs to registration and graduation. Assisting in identifying student groups and population, will help the marketing and outreach team reach the right audience. Providing data insights to support strategic planning, and specialized accreditation activities, and other compliance initiatives.
Leadership and Coaching 20%:
• Assist the Data Manager in leading and managing the data analysis, management, storage, and integration efforts at ODU Global, Division of Digital Transformation & Technology ( FNA Digital Learning).
• Provide guidance, support, and mentorship to the Data Analysts to ensure the team’s success.
• Assist with planning and organizing data projects, defining clear objectives and determining the necessary steps to achieve these objectives.
• Assist with reviewing and directing the preparation of routine data reports needed by management for decision-making purposes and in support of marketing and enrollment growth goals.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand report requirements and provide data-driven reports.
Data Research & Management 30%
• Gathering, integrating, validating data from different sources and effectively querying it to create reports and dashboards.
• Lead the preparation of data reports needed by management for decision making purposes in support of marketing and enrollment growth goals.
• Collaborates with the different departments within ODU Global, ODU , in the completion of major projects related to the entire student lifecycle – inquiries, enrollment, retention, and graduation.
• Provides support on collection of data from various sources and formats, collating and providing an aggregated overview which would help in completion of different internal and external surveys related to general education assessment, and university assessment, strategic plan, department review, and annual reports.
Data Reporting & Analysis 30%
• Uses statistical and data processing software to organize and analyze data.
• Lead analysts in the analysis of data, identifying patterns and interpreting what the patterns may mean prior to reporting out.
• Supports requests for new and ongoing report creation, distribution, data collection, and analysis.
• Build appropriate dashboards that connect to multiple data sources to maximize the availability of prepared data.
• Creates and maintains datasets for longitudinal and predictive data analyses.
Team Project Liaison 20%
• Provides recommendations and implements improvements in data collection and analysis processes for reporting purposes.
• Provides ongoing support to respond to ad hoc data collection requests as made by various stakeholders. This will include responding to data needed for decision-making.
• Ensures Digital Learning business needs and end-user requirements will be satisfied with the implementation of new software solutions.
• Works regularly with Associate Vice Presidents of Digital Learning with other duties as assigned within Digital Learning and with the campus as needed.

Minimum Qualifications
Education: Master’s Degree in computer science, information technology, information technology management, data science, mathematics, statistics, social science, education, business, or related area
Experience: 2 years experience in job offered or related
Skills:
● knowledge of data collection, integration, analysis, and automation abilities.
● Ability to work with cross-functional teams and internal and external customers.
● Proficiency in scripting languages like SQL and programming languages like python, or similar language.
● Skills with databases, spreadsheet, word processing and presentation software applications.
● Knowledge of automation and approval workflows preferred.
● Knowledge of database management software and web development software preferred.
● Ability to manage multiple activities in a deadline-oriented environment; highly organized, flexible, and rigorous attention to detail.
● Ability to work with data of varying levels of quality and validity.
● Ability to adopt new systems, tools, and software.
