V2X FSET - Systems Engineer 3 (Afloat) Site Lead - Top Secret Clearance in Norfolk, Virginia

Responsibilities

  • Work with the AOR Lead to identify available FSEs for assignment to the upcoming CSG or ARG, ensuring the proper mix of engineering skills are applied.

  • Work with the AOR Lead and team leads to determine deployment rotation cycle and integration of other AOR assets.

  • Respond and delegate to the appropriate FSE, taskings from AOR Lead and/or FRD as required.

  • Assist the AOR Lead in developing a response plan for requests for support outside the normal Fleet Response Plan (FRP), (HADR, Speed to Capability insertions, emergent requests for support).

  • Coordinate approval of PTO/Vacation with the AOR Lead and in coordination with OCF task leadership (VOSIP, MOC, GBIT) as required.

  • Monitor INTELSHARE, ensuring that all FSEs are accurately inputting FSET Engagement Status Reports (FESR) on technical assistance provided to the fleet.

  • Input INTELSHARE FSR offline reports for those FSEs unable to reach the INTELINK site.

  • Report any changes in schedules, schools, underway travel, PTO, etc. to the AOR Lead and program leadership.

  • Draft / provide inputs for the FRD weekly report or draft the FRD weekly report and submit to the AOR Lead.

  • Review and approve timecards on a weekly basis.

  • Ensure direct reports, including subcontractors, are completing corporate and government mandatory training.

  • Ensure direct reports, including subcontractors, are maintaining their CSWF (IA and OS as required) credentials.

  • Participate in the weekly staff meeting with the FSET PM and PMO staff, highlighting events in your AOR and how we are supporting the customer.

  • Attend the bi-yearly government Program Managers Review as directed.

Qualifications

  • Qualifications

  • Minimum Qualification:

  • BS in Information Technology (or equivalent technical degree) or 8+ years technical experience with Afloat Navy or Marine Corps C4I systems required.

  • Preferred Certifications:

  • Certification as IAT2 (per DoD Inst 8750.1 and Navy requirements) with appropriate IA certification required and computing environment certification highly desired. Operating systems can include Windows, Linux, Cisco and Solaris. VMWare and NetApp highly desired.

  • Skills:

  • Must be responsible for the day-to-day activities of assigned FSET personnel administratively and professionally.

  • Must be able to troubleshoot end-to-end connectivity, for IT and RF communications systems, involving multiple sites and multiple systems.

  • Must be able to provide OJT to less experienced FSEs and Navy technical personnel.

  • Must be able to read, understand and interpret technical documentation, schematics, SOPs, and other documents relating to the operation and configuration of Navy C4I Systems.

  • Must be able to communicate well both orally and in writing.

  • Must be able to communicate well with senior Navy officials and technical personnel.

  • Clearance:

  • Top Secret clearance required

  • Other Requirement:

  • Candidate’s primary work will be in an office, or when required aboard Navy ships in an equipment or computer room. To provide required service to fleet assets, work at times other than normal working hours may be required. Premium pay will be paid for underway periods.

  • Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Review timecards daily, ensuring activity codes, job codes, holidays and hours are recorded correctly. Approve timecards weekly.

  • Ensure direct reports are completing corporate and government mandatory training.

  • Ensure direct reports are maintaining their CSWF credentials.

  • Review and approve expense reports.

  • Assign your direct reports to training offered by FRD.

  • Participate in weekly staff meetings.

  • Review, approve and forward Travel Authorization Requests (TARs). Ensure all tasks associated with travel are completed in a timely manner.

  • Conduct employee counseling as required. Record all counseling if adverse.

  • Ensure direct reports complete Annual Performance Reviews, goals and development plans.

  • Provide updates to the FSET Workbook and other program documentation as requested.

  • Review resumes from Recruiting, referrals as necessary.

  • Conduct interviews.
