County of Montgomery Office Support Person VI - Forfeiture/Extradition Clerk in Norristown, Pennsylvania

SUMMARY

Employee will be responsible for clerical forfeiture and extradition work.  Generally, responsibilities include, but are not limited to: receiving seized property from local police departments and the Montgomery County Detective Bureau, accurately maintaining multiple spreadsheets, filing court documents, preparing and processing paperwork, creating files, scheduling hearings, preparing witness subpoenas and other tasks as assigned by the forfeiture/extradition ADA.  This position will regularly interact with police departments and defendants. The employee will also assist with administrative tasks related to the Grand Jury. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Processing and depositing seized funds/property from local Police Departments.
  • Coordinating with local Police Departments when funds/property will be brought in.
  • Creating files for all forfeiture/extradition cases.
  • Assisting with the creation and filing of forfeiture/extradition paperwork.
  • Mailing paperwork to defendants and attorneys.
  • Scheduling hearings for forfeiture and extradition matters.
  • Processing forfeiture orders and judgements.
  • Maintaining forfeiture spreadsheets/reports.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

  • High school diploma or GED equivalency certificate.
  • Knowledge of the Criminal Justice System.
  • Knowledge of the Court System.
  • Communication: oral & written.
  • Typing and computer skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs, including Word and Excel spreadsheet.
  • Information gathering.
  • Organizational skills
  • Good grammar.
