Job Description:
As a Mechanical Engineer, you will work with technical staff to develop antenna designs from concept through production, and provide mechanical support for a diverse, relatively high volume production line. The position will require performing the mechanical engineering activities related to the design, analysis, documentation, processing, fabrication, assembly, and qualification of antenna product to specification requirements typically with stringent technical, schedule, and process requirements. The candidate will also be responsible for production support including MRB and ECN activity to support our product, and working with manufacturing for initial work instructions for new product.
Essential Functions:
Work in design, materials and processes related to Electronics Packaging and/ or Antenna Packaging
Work with CREO and Autocad
Work with ECNs, MRB
Work with various teams in process development activities
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.
CAD experience using PTC CREO/Windchill and AutoCad
Understanding/experience with standard ASME Y14.5M-1994 and GD&T
Requires experience in machine shop practices, composite construction, and fixture design for assembly, manufacturing tooling and test
Experience in design of detail parts and assemblies, preferrably related to electronic packages
Experience in writing test procedures and reports and preparing documentation to present at PDR, CDR and TRR functions
Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance
Preferred Additional Skills:
Experience with Antenna design, materials and processes
Experience with machined, plastic and sheet metal part design
Design for Manufacturability and Assembly (DFM/DFMA) experience
Experience with Project Management A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected, including the ability to multi-task in an environment with changing priorities
Experience in environmental qualification of product including familiarity with Mil-STD-810, DO160 and RCC 319 is desired
Effectively communicate issues/problems and results that impact timelines, accuracy, and reliability of project data
In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in New York State is $81,500.00 - $151,500.00. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
