We are seeking an experienced Senior Inventory Control & Configuration Manager to optimize inventory management, lead strategic initiatives, and partner across the organization to delight our customers.

At the core of the Senior Inventory Control & Configuration Manager role is driving inventory optimization and accuracy across the organization. The Senior Inventory Control & Configuration Manager is responsible for implementing effective cycle count programs, investigating inventory discrepancies, and fine-tuning inventory levels to meet customer demand. This includes leveraging data analytics to identify optimization opportunities, as well as partnering with 3PL providers and internal teams to streamline processes and introduce automation. The Senior Inventory Control & Configuration Manager also leads strategic initiatives such as transitioning the company's ERP and supply chain planning systems to best-in-class systems, managing engineering change orders, and establishing robust master data management. Tackling these complex, cross-functional efforts requires deep supply chain expertise, strong vendor management skills, and the ability to drive change. By delivering inventory optimization and accuracy, the Senior Inventory Control & Configuration Manager plays a critical role in enhancing the customer experience.

Key job responsibilities

  • Ensure inventory accuracy across product categories by implementing cycle count programs, investigating discrepancies, and optimizing inventory levels to meet customer demand

  • Manage 3PL provider relationships, negotiate SLAs, and drive continuous operational performance improvements

  • Drive process improvements and system automation to eliminate manual inventory management tasks

  • Partner with engineering teams on configuration management, including maintaining accurate master data, creating and updating bills of materials (BOMs), and managing engineering change orders

  • Manage change orders and lead the change management process for manufacturing

  • Develop and maintain KPIs and metrics dashboards to track inventory performance while leading root cause analysis for inventory variances and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives through Lean/Six Sigma methodologies, focusing on optimizing inventory carrying costs, maintaining appropriate safety stock levels, and reducing excess/obsolete inventory

  • Collaborate cross-functionally to align on inventory goals and execute plans to achieve them

  • Manage a team of inventory control planners and material handlers, foster a culture of continuous improvement, empowering the team to identify and implement efficiency gains

  • Attract, hire, and retain top talent to build a high-performing inventory management organization

  • Ensure effective knowledge transfer and documentation to support scaling

Basic Qualifications

  • 6+ years of professional experience in inventory management, manufacturing, or supply chain

  • 2+ years of people management experience

  • Expertise in inventory planning, forecasting, replenishment, and optimization

  • Strong vendor management and 3PL coordination skills

  • Demonstrated experience leading complex, cross-functional projects

  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and process improvement skills

  • Proficient in supply chain management tools and technologies

  • Proficient in SQL and data visualization to drive key insights (Tableau, Power BI)

  • Knowledge of Lean/Six Sigma process improvement methodologies

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain, operations, or a related field

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with ERP system implementations and supply chain planning tool transitions

  • Experience with SAP S4/HANA and Kinaxis

  • APICS Certification CPIM or CSCP

  • Strong background in change management and driving system automation

  • Master's degree in supply chain management or business administration
