Pay Range: $40.00 - $47.42 per hour

Client Overview:

Our esteemed client is a global pharmaceutical leader, recognized for their innovation in developing and manufacturing world-class pharmaceutical drugs, life-saving vaccines, and groundbreaking animal-health products. We are seeking an exceptional candidate to join their dynamic team in advancing their viral vaccine programs.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and motivated contractor to join the Infectious Disease and Vaccines department, specifically within the vaccines group. The primary responsibility of this role is to support pre-clinical vaccine testing in animal models to advance the client’s viral vaccine programs. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in performing virological assays, tissue/cell culture, and ELISA testing, while providing overall laboratory support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct virological assay support, including running ELISAs, viral plaque reduction assays, and serum neutralization assays.

  • Generate viral stocks and manage the internal and external shipments of samples.

  • Maintain accurate sample inventory and ensure proper lab management.

  • Provide laboratory support and ensure efficient and accurate execution of experiments.

  • Collaborate with internal teams and contribute to ongoing vaccine development efforts.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum Degree: BS/BA with 6 years of experience or a Master’s degree with 4 years of experience in a biological science-related field.

  • Maximum Degree: PhD with at least 1 year of hands-on expertise in the required skill set.

  • Required Skills:

  • Experience with virological assay support, including ELISAs, viral plaque reduction assays, and serum neutralization assays.

  • Expertise in tissue and cell culture techniques.

  • Preferred Skills:

  • Familiarity with GraphPad Prism.

  • Experience using Electronic Lab Notebooks (ELN).

  • A dedicated work ethic and reliability.

  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.

  • Critical thinking abilities: able to evaluate results, troubleshoot, and address issues effectively.

Additional Notes:

  • This is a 100% lab-based onsite role .

  • Candidates should be comfortable with blood-borne pathogen titer screening after the assignment has started. Merck will perform the titer test.
