Position Overview: The Maintenance Electrician union represented position. The Maintenance Electrician position is responsible for the installation, testing and maintenance of the electrical and fire alarm systems on the College campus, as well as the electrical distribution and transmission equipment in the utility tunnels and electrical vaults. The Maintenance Electrician also coordinates the work of outside electrical contractors working for the College as required. This position requires continuous education to further educate and support this position. Union Salary and Benefits: The full-scale wage for the Maintenance Electrician position is $45.00 per hour plus a generous benefit package. New employees will be hired with a one-year training period. At the start of the training period, wages are reduced by $2.00 per hour from the base classification rates. Employees will receive a $1.00 per hour increase after six months, and another $1.00 per hour increase after twelve months. Again, benefits are in addition to the wage. Days/Hours: Monday Friday 8:00 AM 5:00 PM Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities: Maintain all electrical systems on the College campus. Including: 13.8kv switchgear and main distribution system Emergency generation systems Commercial building switchgear and distribution systems Residential style buildings. Primary responsibility for the Fire Alarm panels and systems in the campus buildings, including residential buildings. Assist with low voltage card access and security systems as needed.
