Psychiatrist: Outpatient Opportunity in Norwalk, Connecticut (50 miles from New York City)

Norwalk Hospital, part of Nuvance Health, formerly known as Western Connecticut Health, is seeking a full-time outpatient psychiatrist in Norwalk, Connecticut. Norwalk is located in suburban Fairfield County about 50 miles northeast of New York City along the shore of the Long Island Sound and nearby to Westchester County in New York. Our outpatient work is a hybrid model conducted by tele-health and in-person. Our long established practice has seven psychiatrists and two nurse practitioners with opportunities for teaching psychiatry residents and medical students. We have a highly collegial and supportive working environment. Opportunity includes sign on bonus.

The ideal candidate will be a board certified/eligible psychiatrist. Spanish speaking is a plus. Occasional weekend coverage is paid at an additional per diem rate. Our program offers teaching appointments, working with Nuvance Health psychiatry residents and medical students from the University of Vermont. This is an employed position with a highly competitive compensation and benefits package, including generous allowances for CMEs and Dues expenses and CME time.

Norwalk Hospital has 366 beds and is also a Level II Trauma Center with approximately 50,000 ED visits per year. As a teaching hospital, we are associated with the University of Vermont College of Medicine, Yale University School of Medicine, Ross University School of Medicine and the American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine. Our Medical Group includes 1000+ physicians and advanced practice providers, serving a geographically broad region throughout Western Connecticut and eastern New York.

Norwalk Hospital is ideally situated in Fairfield County, Connecticut, along the Long Island Sound. The city of Norwalk is rich in cultural diversity and offers many venues for 4 season outdoor and indoor recreation. There are excellent public and private schools and universities in our area. New York City is easily accessible by car or train. Norwalk Hospital has been a proud part of this community since 1892.
