Description
Summary:
To provide Radiologic care to patients for the purpose of diagnosis and/or treatment of anatomic and physiologic disorders.
Responsibilities:
Patient Care Criteria A: Technologist checks requests for x-ray exam ordered and special instructions Patient Care Criteria B: Pleasantly greets, is courteous and cooperative to patients and their family members. Patient Care Criteria C: Explains procedures and x-rays to the patient and gets consent forms signed, if needed. Patient Care Criteria D: Maintains patient confidentiality.
Performs radiographic procedures and has developed skills in proper use of the x-ray machines. Criteria A: Sets up and operates fluoroscopy, video and overhead machine. Performs radiographic procedures and has developed skills in proper use of the x-ray machines. Criteria B: Demonstrates anatomy through proper positioning and techniques and is knowledgeable of anatomical landmarks. Performs radiographic procedures and has developed skills in proper use of the x-ray machines. Criteria C: Performs visual inspection of equipment and room, and reports any malfunctioning equipment and is responsible for completing tube warm-up. Performs radiographic procedures and has developed skills in proper use of the x-ray machines. Criteria D: Knows set up for certain procedures such as myleograms, sialograms, arthrograms, Hystro, BE, GI modified BA swallows, venograms, etc.

Training and Education Criteria A: Maintains ASRT Certification and CT Licensure. Training and Education Criteria B: Attends staff meetings and inservices. Training and Education Criteria C: Attends continuing ED programs for ASRT ECE credits.
Has knowledge of mammography procedures , for those technologists performing mammography. Criteria A: Able to perform mammography QA/QC Has knowledge of mammography procedures , for those technologists performing mammography. Criteria B: Functions as lead mammography technologist Has knowledge of mammography procedures , for those technologists performing mammography. Criteria C: Reviews mammography protocols Has knowledge of mammography procedures , for those technologists performing mammography. Criteria D: Informs other mammography technologists of new MQSA regulations and/or equipment
Performs other duties as assigned.
Fulfills all compliance responsibilities related to the position.
Education: HS GRAD/EQUIVALENT
Other Information:
Required: Graduate of AMA approved school of Radiologic Technology. Must achieve registration within one year of graduation and Connecticut State License. 2 years X-Ray experience preferred.
Minimum Experience: two years
Desired: Connecticut Licensure in Radiologic Technology, ARRT Registered in Radiologic Technology; responsible for maintaining CE credits for ARRT and Connecticut Licensure
