This associate-level design engineering position offers a variety of challenging opportunities in Electrical Engineering and will provide an excellent opportunity for career advancement.
Responsibilities include:
Support Electrical design engineering efforts on multi-disciplined project design teams tackling the most difficult aspects of nuclear material handling and nuclear waste cleanup and processing
Under supervision, responsible for the production of engineering calculations/analyses, design drawings, specifications, and engineering reports
Apply electrical engineering principles to the design and qualification of structures, systems, and components
Qualifications
Must be a U.S. Citizen; Dual citizenship with a country other than the U.S. does not qualify.
Essential skills and experience:
BS in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program
A minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible experience in electrical engineering in a nuclear environment (DOE preferred, commercial, or Navy)
Self-motivated, have a strong willingness to learn, be able to work independently as well as with a multi-disciplined team, and have excellent organizational and communication skills
Must be able to obtain US government security clearance
Valued but not required skills and experience:
A P.E. license, preferably in the state of Tennessee
Familiarity with electrical analysis software such as SKM Power Tools

About This Business Unit
Sargent & Lundy’s Government Services Division provides cutting-edge engineering design and consulting support to the management and operating contractors for US Department of Energy (DOE) sites and national laboratories. Specifically, we support the DOE Environmental Management Directorate as well as the National Nuclear Security Administration laboratories and sites. What does this mean? You can be a part of multi-discipline design teams supporting projects cleaning up the environmental damage associated with the legacy nuclear weapons production complex and/or preserving our country’s nuclear deterrent.
