Overview
AIS is looking for a Project Engineer I to work in Oak Ridge, TN. The position will lead engineering efforts for critical projects. These scopes deal mainly in site-civil space with new utility routing and connections into existing lines. Engineering Management prefers the individual to have a similar background and experience in this type of scope work and good communication skills as the job will require interface meetings with both the Client (DOE) and Utility Owners at Y-12 and the City of Oak Ridge Public Works. Responsibilities
Makes arrangements for staffing of projects with qualified personnel
Monitors adherence to manpower estimates and schedules
Plans and directs engineering assignments on the project
Exercises operational supervision over the engineers of all disciplines
Qualifications
Bachelor of Science degree (or equivalent education) in an appropriate engineering discipline from a four-year accredited college or university
12-year experienced degreed engineer (at least 2 years of this experience in a supervisory capacity)
Basic knowledge of managing projects of modest size and/or may assist Project Engineering Managers in higher levels
Basic knowledge of working with Principal Engineers and Supervising Discipline Engineers to determine man-hour requirements and schedules for each discipline consistent with the project requirements and schedule
Basic knowledge of establishing overall design basis reflecting client requirements and good engineering and design practices
Basic knowledge of coordinating the technical activities among disciplines on the project
Has technical responsibilities for interpreting, organizing, executing, and coordinating these assignments
Desired Qualifications:
- Professional Engineer (PE) license is a preferred qualification
