Cloud Network Engineer

Role purpose

The Cloud Network Engineer plays a crucial role in designing, implementing, managing, and maintaining cloud network infrastructure. This position demands a deep understanding of WAN and cloud platforms (such as AWS, Azure, Google Cloud), network architecture, and security principles to ensure reliable, scalable, and secure cloud network operations. You will become a member of a global team supporting large-scale networks, DC infrastructures, and hybrid cloud environments.

Key responsibilities

Network Design and Implementation

Design and implement cloud-based network solutions. Develop and maintain network architecture diagrams and documentation. Configure and deploy virtual networks, VPNs, subnets, and routing tables.

Cloud Platform Management

Manage and optimize network configurations on AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud. Ensure high availability and scalability of network infrastructure. Set up and maintain hybrid cloud environments. Monitor and troubleshoot network performance issues.

Security and Compliance

Implement and manage security measures for cloud networks. Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations. Monitor cloud security services to protect against threats. Ensure security by design.

Performance Monitoring and Optimization

Monitor network performance for high availability and reliability. Optimize network configurations for efficiency and cost-effectiveness. Troubleshoot network issues and perform root cause analysis.

Skills

Professional Experience

At least 5+ years of industry experience including and 3+ years designing and managing solutions using Cloud. Experience in large architecture, standardization, and transformation initiatives.

Technical Expertise

Practical knowledge of services available in public clouds (Azure, Google Cloud, AWS) in the areas of: Compute, Networking, and Security in various operating models (IaaS, PaaS).

Network Security and Monitoring

Expertise with firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and other security protocols and appliances (e.g., Cisco, Check Point, Palo Alto, Fortinet). Expertise in using cloud and network management and automation solutions. Additionally, strong experience with cloud-specific security measures and protocols (e.g., AWS Security Hub, Azure Security Center, Google Cloud Security Command Center) and cloud networking services (e.g., AWS VPC, Azure Virtual Network, Google Cloud VPC).

Certifications and Additional Skills

ITIL Certification (highly desirable)

Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, AZ-305, AZ-400, Professional Cloud Network Engineer.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience)
