The Role
The Senior Infrastructure Automation leader is responsible for developing and executing infrastructure modernization strategies while building and mentoring high-performing platform engineering teams. This leader will drive organizational excellence through building scalable automation practices, establishing Infrastructure-as-Code standards, and fostering a culture of infrastructure automation across the enterprise. They will champion modern infrastructure practices through people development, automation innovation, and strategic technical partnerships to accelerate cloud adoption and infrastructure modernization initiatives.

The Main Responsibilities
Define and drive cloud strategy and transformation roadmap in partnership with senior leadership
Establish organizational standards, governance frameworks, and best practices for cloud adoption
Lead strategic planning and resource allocation across multiple teams and initiatives
Build, coach, and develop a diverse team of engineering managers and senior individual contributors
Drive career growth through mentorship, feedback, and creation of development opportunities
Attract and retain top talent while developing succession plans for key roles
Oversee architectural decisions and technical direction across multiple strategic initiatives
Guide teams in designing and implementing scalable, cost-effective cloud solutions
Drive standardization and optimization of cloud infrastructure and practices
Influence senior leadership on technology investments and strategic priorities
Build consensus across teams and drive organizational change management
Establish metrics and KPIs to measure team health, technical quality, and business impact
Drive continuous improvement in engineering practices and delivery processes
Manage budgets and resource allocation across multiple teams
Balance tactical execution with strategic long-term initiatives
What We Look For in a Candidate
Technical Requirements:
Deep hands-on experience with AWS, Azure, and GCP core services
Strong experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
Advanced knowledge of CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab, GitHub Actions, Ansible)
Proficiency in at least one programming language (Python, Go, Java)
Experience with monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch)
Knowledge of security best practices and compliance frameworks
Deep architectural knowledge of cloud-native patterns
Expert-level knowledge in cloud security and compliance
Advanced experience with cloud cost optimization
Expertise in cloud automation and Infrastructure as Code
Strong understanding of enterprise architecture patterns
Experience with cloud networking and hybrid connectivity
Knowledge of multiple public cloud providers' well-architected frameworks
Bachelors degree or equivalent education with 12+ years of enterprise technology experience, including at least 4 years of people management experience leading DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), or Cloud Engineering teams. Must demonstrate extensive expertise in system architecture, operational excellence, and strategic technical leadership, with a proven track record of building and scaling high-performing engineering organizations.
Compensation
This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience and other relevant factors.
Location Based Pay Ranges:
$129,639 - $172,852 in these states: AL, AR, AZ, FL, GA, IA, ID, IN, KS, KY, LA, ME, MO, MS, MT, ND, NE, NM, OH, OK, PA, SC, SD, TN, UT, VT, WI, WV, and WY.
$136,121 - $181,494 in these states: CO, HI, MI, MN, NC, NH, NV, OR, and RI.
$142,603 - $190,137 in these states: AK, CA, CT, DC, DE, IL, MA, MD, NJ, NY, TX, VA, and WA.
