Data Conversion Analyst

What does a Successful Data Conversion Analyst do at Fiserv?

The Card Issuing Data Conversion Analysts are part of a team who works directly with new clients to convert their existing credit card portfolios onto Fiserv processing platforms. The team is comprised of project managers, data analysts, and conversion programmers who perform the initial review of a converting client’s data files, develop an extensive list of reports and utilize custom tools to analyze the data, develop technical specifications for converting the data, present the specifications to the client, write the conversion programs and processes, and assist with the testing/loading processes. These positions offer a variety of opportunities to work in both business and technical roles. The roles provide a unique opportunity to use both technical and analytical skills, to gain knowledge of the payment processing industry and Fiserv applications and products, and to use the soft skills required to work effectively with clients.

What you will do:

  • Be responsible for the technical data mapping analysis

  • Deliver and execute conversion project deliverables for the full project life cycle from initiation through project closure

  • Design and document complex technical requirements for business applications

  • Partner with business analysts to identify business needs and appropriate technical solutions and create data conversion mapping specifications

  • Ensure quality of data conversion output (data, files, reports, statements, plastics, etc.)

  • Validate offline System and Output testing of data conversion files

  • Build partnerships with clients, product owners, application development teams, and program management colleagues

  • Monitor and report progress and identifying risks and issues

What you will need to have:

  • 5 + years of experience in COBOL, Mainframe applications, IBM JCL, and TSO/TPX

  • 5 + years of experience in previous IT or Business Analysis experience

  • Proficient in MS Office suite with heightened focus on Excel or SQL

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, work, and military experience

What would be great to have:

  • Experience in converting to new processing platform

  • Experience with Fiserv Optis production programs and processes

  • Credit Card Issuing industry experience

This role is not eligible to be performed in Colorado, California, District of Columbia, Hawaii, Maryland, New York, Nevada, Rhode Island or Washington.
